No form, no cookies, nothing to give back
Showingbook collects nothing from readers, sets no cookies, and runs no analytics. Here is the whole of it, including what a partner link does and does not pass along.
The short version
This site collects nothing from you. There is no form, no account, no comment thread, no newsletter and no login, so there is no field anywhere on Showingbook into which you could type a personal detail even if you wanted to.
It is a set of static files. No script on these pages profiles you, follows you between sites or builds a record of what you read.
Cookies
Showingbook places none. Not for analytics, not for advertising, not for preferences — the site has nothing to remember about you between visits, so it stores nothing in your browser.
If you follow one of the four partner links on this site, the destination is another company's website operating under its own privacy policy, and it may well set cookies of its own. That is their arrangement with you, not ours, and it begins the moment you arrive there rather than while you are here.
Server logs
The web server that delivers these pages keeps ordinary access logs — the kind every web server keeps — recording requested addresses, timestamps and technical details such as browser type. These exist so the site can be kept running and so genuine faults can be found.
They are not joined to anything else, not sold, and not used to build a profile of a reader.
Partner links
Four vendors on this site are linked through a redirect at /go/ so that a commission can be attributed if you subscribe. Following one tells the vendor that the visit came from here. It does not tell us who you are, and no information about you passes through this site in either direction.
Every one of those links is marked sponsored and nofollow in the page source, and the disclosure page names all four and everything that is not one.
Your rights, and how to exercise them
Rights of access, correction and erasure apply to personal data a site holds about you. Showingbook holds none, so in practice there is nothing to access, correct or erase — which is the honest answer rather than a legalistic one.
If you believe otherwise, write to [email protected] and say what you think we hold. You will get a straight answer, and if we are wrong we will say so on this page.
Changes to this page
Should this site ever add analytics, a form or anything else that touches a reader's data, this page will be rewritten before that goes live and will say what changed. There is no plan to.
